A monthly Clinical Somatics practice aligned with the seasons -- supporting muscle tension release, nervous system regulation, lymphatic drainage, + myofascial release. Our listening playlist blends seasonally with inspired nature soundscapes and subtle sound-healing tones to support nervous system regulation, sensory grounding, and deep somatic awareness. The music is intentionally non-rhythmic and non-directive, allowing the brain to soften its grip on effort while the body relearns ease, efficiency, and internal safety. Sounds may include gentle elements from nature, sustained ambient tones, and harmonic textures designed to support rest, orientation, and integration throughout the somatic practice. Clinical Somatics is neuromuscular retraining — a gentle, mindful movement practice that restores communication between the brain, muscles, and nervous system. Instead of stretching or strengthening muscles, somatics teaches the brain how to release chronic muscle tension so the body can move with greater ease. Unlike exercise or stretching, which work on the muscles, Clinical Somatics retrains the brain so muscles can truly turn off — and stay relaxed. Many clients describe it as “yoga for the brain.” Through slow, intentional movement mostly done on the floor, the nervous system learns to update long-held tension patterns, restore natural movement, and down-regulate stress. This supports reduced pain and stiffness, improved mobility and posture, and a calmer nervous system. Clinical Somatics is a learning process, not a one-time treatment. Consistent, gentle practice helps new movement patterns replace old habits over time. Movements are slow, accessible, and done within your comfort level — awareness matters more than effort. You will also be taught how to apply self manual lymphatic drainage techniques as well as self myofascial release - interwoven throughout the classes. If it feels easy, you’re doing it right. We can accommodate if you are unable to be on the floor. Chairs available upon request.
