Hands on adjustment workshop

3.5 CEs with Yoga Alliance - $89

Workshop instructors: Molly Diodato E-500 RYT and Jill Lawley E-200, 500 RYT are both continuing education providers for Yoga Alliance and have over 3000 hours of combined teaching experience. Jill and Molly have advanced training in hands on assisting and regularly use adjustments in their classes.

 Offering yoga assists and hands on adjustments to yoga students is an art. It requires a deep knowledge of poses and flow, keen observational skills, awareness of body mechanics and alignment, and a willingness to connect with students on a more intimate level.  The most important aspect of physically adjusting students is communication and clear intention. The goal of assists and adjustments is to keep our students safe, build connections, and facilitate them in working towards a deeper, safer practice. Through this workshop, teachers will become confident is offering solid, supportive adjustments that empower students.  Discussion topics will include:  -Body Autonomy and Personal Agency  -How to ask to enter a student’s space  -The role of props and tools in assisting Assessing poses to determine where correction and deepening can occur  -Safe Physical Contact  We will explore assists for:  -Sun Salutations Standing and Balancing Poses -Twisting PosesSeated and Forward Folding Poses -Side bends and Back Bends -Savasana  Open to: Yoga teachers from all backgrounds
