About the Event
In this course you will begin to explore the process of becoming an approved Continuing Education Instructor. You will learn the many learning styles, teaching methods, and characteristics of adult learners. You’ll also learn about classroom ethics and how to run a class smoothly. You will learn how to create your own lesson plan and receiving support through the process. You will learn how to properly navigate the NCBTMB site and how to submit your courses. You do not have to be a Licensed Massage Therapist to take this course. You must contact Instructor prior to registering so we can make sure this class is a good fit for you. CE Providers must be passionate about the subject matter of their classes and be willing to dedicate time to developing courses, implementing courses and preparing beforehand for courses.
This course is approved for NCBTMB credits but PA doesn’t accept it (or any other class teaching you how to be an instructor). This is a great investment if you want to become an Instructor and be walked through the entire process. Please note that some states do accept it for credits so please check with your State Board!
The first day is in person and is an 8 CE course. The remaining 16 CEs will be completed via distance learning using Zoom video calls. Homework is required in between our sessions.
Jenn became a Continuing Education Instructor in 2014 and she always enjoyed teaching. She has a desire to share current information with fellow therapists so they can improve their techniques and add to their toolboxes. Jenn offers courses that are very detailed, fun and informative. She uses a variety of teaching styles to reach all learners by implementing auditory, visual and kinesthetic approaches. Each class will be accompanied by a packet of information for each student and typically includes handouts and a copy of the PowerPoint for the class.
