About the Event
Restorative yoga stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which slows the heart rate, regulates blood pressure, and relaxes the body.
In this restorative yoga class, you will practice the intention to relax as far as possible in each supported pose, using as little physical effort as possible. Blocks, straps, blankets, and bolsters are used to support you in each pose with the intention for you to be completely comfortable and supported. You will experience each pose for 4-6 minutes being lead with a deep breathing exercise (pranayama), guided mediation, and a quiet moment.
Yoga teacher, Adrienne Spivey earned her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification at Free Spirit Yoga in 2019. Her personal yoga and meditation practice allows her to stay connected to her true self between her family’s busy schedule. She has continued her yoga training in restorative yoga and trauma informed yoga. Her style of teaching consists of gentle movements with focus on the breath while connecting within. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors hiking and camping with her family and tending to her garden and chickens. She continues to learn about yoga and applies it to her lifestyle, guiding her awareness of self-realization. Adrienne will be finishing her MSW degree this spring with a focus on trauma-responsive care.
She looks forward to sharing and creating a sacred space with you.
