Hi! My name is Amanda, and I come to Brownstone Station Wellness Center as a Yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner. I recently completed my second 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through Studio B Power Yoga in Harrisburg. The first training, I completed online with My Vinyasa Practice. I received my Reiki training, levels 1 and 2, in March 2019.
My intention for my students in classes and Reiki clients is always to take what they need, leave what they don’t, and walk away with the ability to begin to shift into the very best version of themselves. Mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
I mainly teach vinyasa flow classes, with plans to get certified in Yin yoga as well as restorative.
My husband is also a Yoga teacher, and is a full time PA National Guardsman. We moved to the Harrisburg area in 2022 from Erie, PA. We have two grown children, and two still at home. I also coach volleyball and enjoy helping people with nutrition and fitness. I am passionate about helping people realize the power of healing their own bodies have.
Welcome, Amanda! We are thrilled to have you here at Brownstone.
Amanda's Yoga style and class description:
Warm Vinyasa Flow
The class will start slow, warming up the body and connecting to the breath. Classic sun salutations help to build heat in the body and connect breath to movement. Every class will start this way. Once we are warmed up, we begin to move quicker into the “flow.”
There will always be a variety of poses in the flow portion, and modifications are offered to help any level of student feel successful in their practice.
I love to use music to inspire my classes. Anything that makes me want to move, feel, be present, and be more mindful is what I groove to. Vinyasa flow is all about creating space in the body and connecting the breath to movement in a mindful way.
This is an all-levels class.
Amanda's Reiki Service Description:
Simply put, Reiki is a relaxation technique to help calm, and restore the energy centers in the body that are imbalanced. Humans are energetic beings with energy wheels or centers throughout the body. These wheels are called Chakras. Each Chakra is associated with a part of the body and emotional states. The main purpose of a Reiki session is to receive healing energy to help balance these energy centers, both physically and emotionally. A session typically would be for 30 or 60 minutes. This allows for the recipient to fully relax and the practitioner to work as best they can to balance their chakras and clear any stuck energy. I use a massage table or massage chair. There is an option for the table session to also use an infrared heated stone healing mat. The session can be light touch hands-on or completely hands-off for the recipient.
